We offer three daily performances, each lasting approximately 30 minutes, designed to enhance your dining experience. The choreography is crafted by none other than Belle CHUMVAN Sodhachivy, Cambodia’s globally acclaimed choreographer. Under her expert direction, a handpicked team of dancers brings both traditional Cambodian dance and the original “Labyrinth” story to life, captivating guests with a mesmerizing blend of heritage and innovation.
BELE CHUMVAN SODHACHIVY
Belle CHUMVAN Sodhachivy, known as Belle, began her journey in Khmer Classical Dance at the age of 9. She spent years mastering this traditional art, focusing on male roles (Nearong) while also embracing Cambodian folk dance and Shadow Puppetry. At 16, Belle discovered contemporary dance, which opened up new creative opportunities for her. She was accepted into the Robert Wilson’s Watermill Center 2006 International Summer Arts Program, supported by Amrita Performing Arts, which marked a turning point in her career.
Since then, Belle has participated in many contemporary dance workshops around the world and has worked with famous choreographers like Emmanuèle Phuon, Peter Chin, Arco Renz, and Peter Sellars. Her performances have taken her across Asia, Europe, Africa, and the USA, including a notable opera project at Walt Disney Hall in Los Angeles.
Some of her key projects include *Bangsokol – A Requiem for Cambodia*, directed by film maker Rithy PHAN and music composer HIM Sophy, where she was both a performer and stage director assistant, *See You Yesterday*, a blend of circus, comedy, and dance, and the *Cambodian Magic Flute* opera by Mozart. She also appeared in the short film *Beyond the Bridge* along actor Masaya KATO, and took part in the opera *The Terrace of the Leper King* along with actors Ryohei SUZUKI and Kento YAMAZAKI.
In July 2014, Belle earned a scholarship to study in New Zealand, marking a significant achievement in her life. She is the founder of SilverBelle Dance Group and has created many of her own works. Belle also serves as Vice Dean at the Faculty of Choreography at the Royal University of Fine Arts in Phnom Penh, where she continues to guide and inspire the next generation of dancers
